Asked by Australian magazine 'Culture' to create a homage to photographer
Helmut Newton section, the team at Bed Head studio, worked closely together
to develop a conceptual idea that served to demonstrate how the team push
their creativity forwards, thinking up ideas and designing new directions
for their work. From the mood of the lighting for the photography, to the
clothes, makeup, props and of course the hairstyles themselves, the project
showed how the team work together to create a specific mood.
Hair pieces in black and bleached blonde, cut severely into perfect bowl
shapes were placed on models' head to create an androgynous look, whilst
hair teased through hair nets created a suggestive, more feminine and also a 'retro' stylised look. The dramatic effect of the original shoot was developed over the ensuing months to create a strong element of the shows of the TIGI Creative Team.
